Integrity Begins Within

Verses

Job 8:20 (NLT)
But look, God will not reject a person of integrity, nor will he lend a hand to the wicked.

Proverbs 20:7 (NLT)
The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.

Reflection

Integrity is not something we show when others are watching; it is who we are when no one else sees. It means choosing to be kind to those in your presence and loyal to those who aren’t. Integrity weaves consistency between our words and actions, creating a life that honors God and builds trust with others.

A person of integrity doesn’t seek perfection but strives for wholeness—living in alignment with truth and grace. When our hearts are pure before God, our choices reflect His character, and our influence becomes a blessing that reaches beyond us, even to the next generation.

Steps

  1. Speak Well of Others. Refuse to join gossip or criticism. Instead, protect others’ reputations by speaking with kindness and truth.

  2. Keep Your Word. Follow through on commitments, even when it is inconvenient. Small acts of faithfulness reveal great strength of character.

  3. Seek Wholeness in Private. Invite God to examine your heart. Let your unseen thoughts and motives match the person you show to the world.

Journal

  • Where in my life am I living with integrity, and where do I need to grow?

  • Am I kind to those in my presence and loyal to those who are not?

  • Use Psalm 139:23–24 (NLT) to ask the Spirit of God to reveal the following information:

    • Search me, O God, and know my heart;

    • Test me and know my anxious thoughts.

    • Point out anything in me that offends you,

    • And lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for calling me to walk in integrity. Help me to be kind to those in my presence and loyal to those who are not. Shape my heart to be pure and blameless for the day of Christ. Guard my integrity and lead me in Your truth.

“May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in You.” – Psalm 25:21 (NLT)

In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.
